Graduate Students
Naomi Lin, PhD Student
Naomi Lin is a Ph.D. student in Education Studies and Cognitive Science at UCSD. Her research interests lie in early cognitive and brain development translations to early childhood education and implications on early educational disparities across race, gender, and social classes. She is passionate about utilizing music in learning and development. Currently, she is teaching early development courses at UCSD, working on longitudinal analysis with EDLAB, and conducting various analyses on California's early childhood education programs, through Desired Results for Children and Families and Child Care and Development Fund, with WestEd.
Monica Molgaard, PhD Student
Monica Molgaard is a doctoral student in the Education Studies Department at the University of California, San Diego. Her research examines the implementation of anti-bias and anti-racist frameworks in early childhood settings. Her work focuses on teachers’ beliefs and practices around race and racism and how these impact their classroom pedagogy, and children's understanding of race and racism and their experience within the classroom. Her work lies at the intersection of the theoretical frameworks of developmental theories and Critical Race Theory.
